Summary

Stephanie Plum, Trenton’s hardest working, most underappreciated bounty hunter, is offered a freelance assignment that seems simple enough。 Local jeweler Martin Rabner wants her to locate his former security guard, Andy Manley (a。k。a。 Nutsy), who he is convinced stole a fortune in diamonds out of his safe。 Stephanie is also looking for another troubled man, Duncan Dugan, a fugitive from justice arrested for robbing the same jewelry store on the same day。

With her boyfriend Morelli away in Miami on police business, Stephanie is taking care of Bob, Morelli’s giant orange dog who will devour anything, from Stephanie’s stray donuts to the upholstery in her car。 Morelli’s absence also means the inscrutable, irresistible security expert Ranger is front and center in Stephanie’s life when things inevitably go sideways。 And he seems determined to stay there。

To complicate matters, her best friend Lula is convinced she is being stalked by a mythological demon hell-bent on relieving her of her wardrobe。 An overnight stakeout with Stephanie’s mother and Grandma Mazur reveals three generations of women with nerves of steel and driving skills worthy of NASCAR champions。

As the body count rises and witnesses start to disappear, it won’t be easy for Stephanie to keep herself clean when everyone else is playing dirty。 It’s a good thing Stephanie isn’t afraid of getting a little dirty, too。

I grew up in Trenton and reading these books always brings up great memories of the "burg" the way it was years ago。 Good food and friends。 This is one of the best Stephanie Plum books in the series, a true page turner and a cliff-hanger ending。 A must read。 These are always a good read, if you have never read this series start now as they will not disappoint you。 A fun easy read for anyone。 Truly enjoyed, and now waiting on the next book。(Received ARC copy from publisher) I grew up in Trenton and reading these books always brings up great memories of the "burg" the way it was years ago。 Good food and friends。 This is one of the best Stephanie Plum books in the series, a true page turner and a cliff-hanger ending。 A must read。 These are always a good read, if you have never read this series start now as they will not disappoint you。 A fun easy read for anyone。 Truly enjoyed, and now waiting on the next book。(Received ARC copy from publisher) 。。。more

Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich is another rollicking, high-speed, adventure story, #30 in the series featuring the indomitable Stephanie Plum。 She describes herself as “a Jersey girl, Rutgers grad, and successful underachiever。” She lives in her childhood neighborhood, the Burg, and works for her uncle’s business, Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, as a recovery agent。 The major characters from previous books are all back: Lula, a former streetwalker turned investigator; Connie, the shrewd receptionist; Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich is another rollicking, high-speed, adventure story, #30 in the series featuring the indomitable Stephanie Plum。 She describes herself as “a Jersey girl, Rutgers grad, and successful underachiever。” She lives in her childhood neighborhood, the Burg, and works for her uncle’s business, Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, as a recovery agent。 The major characters from previous books are all back: Lula, a former streetwalker turned investigator; Connie, the shrewd receptionist; Joe Morelli, local detective and Stephanie’s boyfriend; her Grandma Mazur, who knows everything that is going on in the Burg; Bob, Morelli’s golden retriever; Stephanie’s pet hamster, Rex; and handsome Ranger, the mysterious, sexy special ops-type security guy and protector of Stephanie。In this episode, Steph somehow gets involved in solving a jewelry store heist, as well as apprehending a couple bail skippers with Lula by her side, as well as her temporary charge, Bob, leading to laugh-out-loud situations as Bob does what 75# golden retrievers typically do。 The action is nonstop, as the trio ricochet from one mess to another。 Lula’s pithy commentary on life, food, and curvy girls, and her clever repartee with Stephanie, is incredibly entertaining, as well as the vignettes of life in the Burg, where everyone knows everybody’s business。 In the end, Stephanie is a hard-working, kind-hearted local girl who gets in and out of jams。 As she observes, “I am resilient, go figure。”This novel is a laugh-a-minute caper and Evanovich, as usual, hits just the right notes of comedy, drama with seriously dangerous situations, and warm-hearted friends/family moments。While this can be read as a stand-alone adventure, the colorful characters and their relationships make more sense if the books are read in order。Grab this book for entertaining, escapist reading!!Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC。 This is my honest review。 。。。more

All our favorite characters return to help Stephanie outwit the bad guys and keep personal mayhem to a minimum。 Good use of humor and the story moves right along。 The twisty ending will make you wonder what decision will Stephanie make。 Maybe the author will encourage her fans to weigh in。 Thanks to #NetGalley and #DirtyThirty for advanced digital copy。

I was so excited to read Dirty Thirty! I’ve been reading the Stephanie Plum books from the beginning and can honestly say that I still love reading about the characters to this day。 This installment of the series did a great job again with keeping the characters true to their history。 Lula always makes me laugh and she did not disappoint in this book。 The mystery, as always, is a little over the top, but works perfectly in this book series。 We did get a huge cliff hanger at the end and for life I was so excited to read Dirty Thirty! I was thrilled to receive a review copy of Janet Evanovich’s latest book, Dirty Thirty, and I was not disappointed。 This laugh-out-loud novel had me smiling and giggeling every few pages。 The Stephanie Plum books are mysteries in name only。 The plot is never that complicated, just convoluted for the sake of humor。 These books are examples of slapstick, banter and sarcasm。 The series feature Stephanie Plum, a hapless bounty hunter and her over the top, large as life friend Lula who work for a loc I was thrilled to receive a review copy of Janet Evanovich’s latest book, Dirty Thirty, and I was not disappointed。 This laugh-out-loud novel had me smiling and giggeling every few pages。 The Stephanie Plum books are mysteries in name only。 The plot is never that complicated, just convoluted for the sake of humor。 These books are examples of slapstick, banter and sarcasm。 The series feature Stephanie Plum, a hapless bounty hunter and her over the top, large as life friend Lula who work for a local bail bondsman。 The buddy team are reminiscent of the old “I love Lucy” duo of Lucy and Ethel- only without the spouses。 Once again Stephanie and Lulu find themselves deep in trouble。 With boyfriend Morrelli out of town, Stephanie is left holding the dog chow bag, and Bob the dog, who cannot be trusted alone in the apartment, is literally along for the ride。 Morrelli may be missing, but her other love interest, Ranger is there to ride to the rescue。 Most series grow stale after this many volumes, but with Dirty Thirty, Evanovich is at her best。 It provides lots of laughs and a few surprises。 This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys Evanovich's books。 I also recommend this book for Humor, Cozy Mystery and Romance fans。 。。。more

Stephanie and Lula get into all sorts of trouble in Trenton again。 Stephanie is given the job of finding a suspect in a diamond robbery。 However, things quickly unravel into firebombings and grave digging。 Oh, and she has to babysit Bob through this book。 So our favorite couch eating dog has a lot of comic relief。 This series is just so much fun and I look forward to each book every autumn。 I know they are slightly formulaic, but the formula works for me and it brings a lot of joy。 I read a lot Stephanie and Lula get into all sorts of trouble in Trenton again。 Stephanie is given the job of finding a suspect in a diamond robbery。 However, things quickly unravel into firebombings and grave digging。 Oh, and she has to babysit Bob through this book。 So our favorite couch eating dog has a lot of comic relief。 This series is just so much fun and I look forward to each book every autumn。 I know they are slightly formulaic, but the formula works for me and it brings a lot of joy。 I read a lot of classics and heavier books, so this is a lighter fluffier read。 Stephanie’s mom has a glorious scene in this one too。 I highly recommend this series, but if you don’t like the first one, it’s probably not for you。 But it’s definitely for me!Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy。 This was my honest review。 。。。more

Grandma got in on the chase and even Mom showed a bit of a wild side! Of course, there's Ranger and Morelli。。。will she ever pick one?? Can you believe it? Janet Evanovich's latest book Dirty Thirty and is the 30th book in her long running Stephanie Plum series! The Plum books are my choice for some escapist, light hearted, comfort listening that doesn't take itself serious at all。 Familiarity is another draw for me - I know who, and what, I'm going to find。 Our lead character Stephanie works as a bounty hunter for her cousin Vinny in Trenton, New Jersey。 This time around, Stephanie is tracking down two possible jewelry thieves。 Can you believe it? For thirty books she has vacillated between Trenton police detective or private security firm owner Ranger。 There may be an answer this time - or maybe not。 (I will definitely be picking up #31 to see what happens next!) I chose to listen to Dirty Thirty。 I'm so happy that Lorelei King is again the reader。 She's been the voice of this series for many years。 The continuity is wonderful as it feels like jumping right back into life in the 'Burg'。 King has a very versatile and expressive voice。 She has created different voices for the characters and it's quite easy to know who is speaking。 The voice for Stephanie is pretty calm, no matter what's going on。 Lula however is always big and loud。 Grandma Mazur's has a perpetually happy voice, always seeing the bright side。 Each of the love interests have distinct voices as well。 Babe。 There's many more and they all fit the mental images I've created for all the players。 King speaks clearly, she is easy to understand and her pace of delivery is just right。 She brings the action, emotions and calamities of the plot to life with her voice, changing up the tenor and tone to match what's going on。 A great performance。 Hear for yourself - listen to an audio excerpt of Dirty Thirty。(PS。 The cases are usually pretty light hearted, but I do have to say I didn't find the 'dog house situation' funny。) 。。。more

The usual entertaining Stephanie Plum fare, with an above-average amount of chaos thrown in by exploding apartments and Bob the dog。 The ending is also unusually exciting, though I don't think anything will come of it in the next book。 The usual entertaining Stephanie Plum fare, with an above-average amount of chaos thrown in by exploding apartments and Bob the dog。 The ending is also unusually exciting, though I don't think anything will come of it in the next book。 。。。more

Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich is a wholly entertaining farce complete with Stephanie’s apartment being firebombed and yet another car destroyed。 Morelli is out of town to testify in court and so Stephanie is babysitting Bob, which means trying to keep him from eating her furniture or the backseat of any car she is driving。 Lula is at sixes and sevens because she believes there is a mythological demon after her extensive wardrobe。 Then a fire destroys Lula’s apartment and presumably her wardrob Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich is a wholly entertaining farce complete with Stephanie’s apartment being firebombed and yet another car destroyed。 Morelli is out of town to testify in court and so Stephanie is babysitting Bob, which means trying to keep him from eating her furniture or the backseat of any car she is driving。 Lula is at sixes and sevens because she believes there is a mythological demon after her extensive wardrobe。 Then a fire destroys Lula’s apartment and presumably her wardrobe and she moves in with Stephanie。 It is not a match made in heaven。 Morelli’s brother and his wife are separated and he is at Morelli’s and she can’t stay there so she does the obvious thing and moves in with Ranger。 It is a complicated story (aren’t they always) in which a robber makes off with a bunch of jewelry from a local jewelers, despite the fact he has a “security” guard and that evening a tray of diamonds from the safe also disappears。 Of course, the security guard and the robber are friends and both very odd, as is the norm in Stephanie’s life and run, which is also typical。 She is a fabulous character, lovable and pretty incompetent, although she seems to be learning。 Her family is made up of caricatures of real Trenton, NJ residents, including her octogenarian grandmother。 Lula is the best character, though, never failing to amuse with her antics, her wardrobe, and her attitude。 Although this book didn’t make me laugh out loud as some have in the past, it was a thoroughly humorous read, fitting right in with the series, with at least one serious twist that long-time readers will be amused by。 It was good to be back with the gang!I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Dirty Thirty by Atria Books, through Netgalley。 All thoughts and opinions are mine。 #Netgalley #AtriaBooks #JanetEvanovich #DirtyThirty 。。。more

I have read almost all of the Stephanie Plum books (I bought Going Rogue, then promptly forgot about it until I found this one on my Netgalley shelf。 I will be reading it)。 There’s a lot to love here。 It’s always entertaining, fairly consistent, and just fun。 That said, we are obviously not here for the character growth (though I can say there is some, just most of it from a dog…)。 It has to be said, after twenty-nine books with her as a bounty hunter, she’s still not very good at this job。 Yes, I have read almost all of the Stephanie Plum books (I bought Going Rogue, then promptly forgot about it until I found this one on my Netgalley shelf。 I will be reading it)。 There’s a lot to love here。 It’s always entertaining, fairly consistent, and just fun。 That said, we are obviously not here for the character growth (though I can say there is some, just most of it from a dog…)。 It has to be said, after twenty-nine books with her as a bounty hunter, she’s still not very good at this job。 Yes, watching her flail is part of the charm… but, much like the perpetual love triangle, it begins to wear。 While she has mastered the stun gun, she still needs help with cuffs and refuses to take her gun from the cookie jar。 I just really want some character growth here- either in career or love, I am not picky。I was able to step right into this book instead of reading book #29 for one simple reason: nothing ever changes。 From one book to the next there will be a car bomb, someone trying to kill Stephanie, a fire (usually her apartment), a viewing at the funeral home, multiple scenes where Grandma Mazur is innapropriate, and even more scenes where Stephanie and Lula become the most chaotic duo。 These might sound like complaints… but they aren’t。 I adore that I know what to expect of these characters and can’t wait to see what they do next。 The cast is special, unique and hilarious… which may be why the series has gone on so long。 The plot is chaotic and unhinged, with at least one thing falling apart daily- the fun is watching how the cast reacts to each。For this book, Bob is definitely the MVP。 We got to see a lot of his attitude as he protects his girls, finds love, and steals food。 Stephanie’s mom also left her comfort zone and I was a bit hopeful for more character growth there。 Lula, on the other hand, is as she always is: loud, rediculous, fierce and charming in her own right。 You don’t go through a book without her referencing her past profession, or talking about how hot one or both of Stephanie’s love interests are。For the most part, this is a decent book。 We aren’t winning any literary awards, but we are having a hell of a lot of fun。 Sometimes, that’s exactly what you need。 It would be a good series to get back into reading with。 While I do wish she’d pay more attention to her other series’, there’s a reason why I always come back to this one。 For me, this is a three star book。 It isn’t the best one by Evanovich, but that doesn’t mean it’s not really good。⭐⭐⭐Rating: 3 out of 5。As far as adult content goes, there is a lot of swearing and flirting, along with mid-level violence。 It’s obviously geared towards adults, I can see late teens liking this as well。I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of this book from Netgalley working with Atria books in exchange for an honest review。 My thanks! 。。。more

It’s rare to find a series featuring the same characters that bring about surprise and intrigue thirty books in。 However, I am at the point where I cannot make justification for how horrible Stephanie treats Joseph。 She constantly cheats on him and does nothing to show she actually cares about being in a long term relationship with him。 I hate this even more because I am 100% team Morelli, and I don’t want him to “lose” because I think he and Stephanie are actually perfect for each other。 I want It’s rare to find a series featuring the same characters that bring about surprise and intrigue thirty books in。 However, I am at the point where I cannot make justification for how horrible Stephanie treats Joseph。 She constantly cheats on him and does nothing to show she actually cares about being in a long term relationship with him。 I hate this even more because I am 100% team Morelli, and I don’t want him to “lose” because I think he and Stephanie are actually perfect for each other。 I want Stephanie and Morelli to end up together and will honestly cry and wish I never discovered this series if that does not happen。———Also, Morelli gave a legitimate, thought through proposal— Ranger just wanted Stephanie to sleep with him (and I can’t fault him for that because Stephanie has been willing to being treated as such, and Ranger has always been up front about his intentions) 。。。more

Stephanie is doing her thing, looking for people who have skipped out on their bond and flirting with the men in her life。 She becomes involved in a situation where things are not as they seem, and Stephanie, Lulu and Ranger spend the rest of the book solving the mystery and seeking justice。The mystery is satisfying -- someone is accused of stealing from a jewelry store, but the jewelry store owner is acting oddly。 Lulu is just as crazy as ever, and everyone treats her with the same understanding and tolerance, leading to an incredibly funny situation where we learn the truth about what has been going on with her。I recommend Stephanie Plum books to anyone who is looking for a light read, is in a reading slump, or who wants a good laugh, and I still laugh when I read them multiple times。 。。。more

As the title states, this is the 30th book in the Stephanie Plum series。 I have been a fan of this series for years, and the newest installment certainly does not disappoint。In addition to Stephanie's work for the bail bonds office, she is asked by a local jeweler to locate the person he believes stole a tray of diamonds from his safe。 Coincidentally, Stephanie is already in the process of finding another person who robbed the same jewelry store and was arrested but skipped out on his bond。 Step As the title states, this is the 30th book in the Stephanie Plum series。 I have been a fan of this series for years, and the newest installment certainly does not disappoint。In addition to Stephanie's work for the bail bonds office, she is asked by a local jeweler to locate the person he believes stole a tray of diamonds from his safe。 Coincidentally, Stephanie is already in the process of finding another person who robbed the same jewelry store and was arrested but skipped out on his bond。 Stephanie and Lula antics abound, and it is hysterical! I laughed out loud throughout the whole book。 My son and husband just kind of look at me like I'm losing my mind。 Bob, Morelli's dog, plays a huge role in this book, which made my heart happy。 And when Stephanie, her mom, her grandma, and Bob go on a stakeout, hilarity ensures! Whenever I am in a reading slump, this is my go-to series to bring me out of it。 I can't say enough great things about this book。 It's funny and thoroughly enjoyable to read。 I would give it more than five stars if I could。 Anyone who hasn't tried this series, you are missing out on a good time。 Oh, and Stephanie's love triangle? Well, it has just gotten a little more complicated, and that's all I'm going to say about that。 。。。more

Stephanie Plum doesn't fail to deliver。 Same characters, same craziness, and, yes, cars get destroyed。 Places get firebombed。 It is a great, silly, and fun read。 Bob, the orange dog, is Stephanie's main sidekick for this adventure。 Grendel, the monster/demon, terrorizes Lulu。 Grandma and Stephanies's mom go on a stakeout。 And finally, there is Ranger。。。。。。。 "Babe" Stephanie Plum doesn't fail to deliver。 Same characters, same craziness, and, yes, cars get destroyed。 Places get firebombed。 It is a great, silly, and fun read。 Bob, the orange dog, is Stephanie's main sidekick for this adventure。 Grendel, the monster/demon, terrorizes Lulu。 Grandma and Stephanies's mom go on a stakeout。 And finally, there is Ranger。。。。。。。 "Babe" 。。。more
